The breakfast roundtable organised by Digital Together in collaboration with the British Chamber of commerce "Digital movers and consumers, setting the agenda for the next legislature"was attended by a growing cross-section of stakeholders and generated positive debate which has helped continue to lay a solid foundation for collectively establishing the structure and modus operandi of Digital Together.
The co-founders of Digital Together, Simone Ceruti and Michael Benis, opened the discussion, presenting the objectives of the roundtable and Digital Together.
The list of panellists included Katja Viertiö Deputy Head, Civil and Commercial Justice Unit, DG JUST, Luisa Crisigiovanni, Secretary General of ALTROCONSUMO, Els Bruggeman, EU Public Affairs, Test-Aankoop Test-Achats, and Andrea Gerosa, CEO of Think Young.
The participants were warm in their support for Digital Together's proposal for closer dialogue and collaboration between stakeholders, including the consumer associations and member of the commission present. All were keenly aware of the intersection of their interests in improving the experience of digital-savvy citizens and consumers, in serving and anticipating their needs and in securing their trust.
The discussion touched on wide-ranging topics, from the Fourth Industrial Revolution to Millennials and their relationship with IT, geo-blocking, E-privacy, online shopping and IoT security.
The British Chamber of Commerce is currently drafting a full official report that will soon be be available online.
Digital Together is currently finalising the framework proposal of 2019 research activities and initiatives which will launch the exciting next phase in its activities.
